A word to Teachers

Written by Leny Grott

When we decided to become teachers, we knew we wanted to make a difference in children’s lives.  We were sure that hugs and smiles could heal booboos and dry tears.

We were always ready to plan, collect data, write observations, decorate, read, create new materials, find a million ways to explain things and make sure our students could understand and apply what we were teaching.  We were ready to help parents and to make children feel strong and part of the school family.  We were comfortable with the unknown, we were ready to bring fun into the classroom.

When a person becomes a teacher it’s because they really care about their community and they are sure they can make the world a better place.

Teachers are blessed

Teachers are fortunate in that they have the unique opportunity to have an impact in their students’ lives.  Teachers hope to educate, encourage learning, and affect positive change.

Teachers want to see their students succeed and they will do what it takes to help them achieve their goals.   Furthermore, teachers care about their student’s happiness, well-being and life beyond the classroom.

A teacher is someone who plays a very important role in the development of every child. The future of a student depends on the abilities and perseverance of a teacher. It is the teacher who generates curiosity in students to develop, progress and achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.

Today, your job is the most important job in the world.  You are capable of succeeding and exceeding all expectations. More importantly, always remember why you became a teacher.

This school year will be different. Children can soar when they have the right teacher and today YOU are the right teacher.
